Apart from our dikes, there are practically no hills in East Frisia. This makes our region extremely popular with cyclists. Besides the abundance of nature and a great climate, you can really cover some serious distance, especially with a bit of a tailwind. Ditzum's location is particularly ideal for this. The sea, or rather the Dollart estuary, the towns of Leer and Emden, and even the Netherlands – everything is within easy cycling distance. Furthermore, the Dollard Route, the Ems Cycle Route, and the North Sea Cycle Route all pass through here.
Our hotel therefore offers special services for cycling holidays. You can safely park your bike in our underground bicycle garage, which also has charging facilities for e-bikes. We also provide drying rooms for your clothes.
The symbiosis of bicycle and canoe
East Frisia offers plenty of water not only along the North Sea and the Ems River, but also in its numerous canals and lakes. These can easily be incorporated into a cycling tour. Thanks to the Paddle & Pedal stations, switching from bicycle to canoe and back again is no problem.
